Puerto Morelos is situated at a short distance from the entrance of the “Riviera Maya” in the State of Quintana Roo, only 20 minutes (18km / 11 miles) south of Cancun International Airport. Originally a Mayan fishing village, Puerto Morelos is the perfect contrast to hectic Cancun and Playa del Carmen, north and south of the village. Compared to its bustling neighbors, Puerto Morelos definitely moves to a different beat, easy going and bohemian in the best sense of the world. Permanent residents include a mix of entrepreneurs, professionals, artisans, marine biologists, sportsmen, Mayan fishermen, retirees from Europe, Canada, the USA and Mexico. WEATHER: Fall, winter and spring there are always cooling offshore breezes along this tropical shoreline. The rainy season extends from June to the middle of November. December through May, the skies are azure blue with low humidity and temperatures ranging from 60° F at night to 90° F days. Water temperature remains constant at 76-78° F year-round. May and June are delightful months with temperatures only slightly higher than December to April. July, August and September are hot and humid.
